Making a web show

A webshow is a lot of work. To some watching, they may think it is easy, but that's where you are wrong. Just like the popular kids show "iCarly", if you intend to do a web show, there are props, a camara, a computer, a website, domain names, the cast and most importantly a script involved.

Oh yeah, the script for a web show is very much like the ones used when movies and tv shows are developed, and even the news stations use a script. Do you really think it all just pops into their heads? Well actually in our show, some of our ideas are really off the top of our heads, but with that said, when the ideas do come up, we often have to do many retakes. So what seems to be a 10 or 15 minute show, actually takes us about 1 to 2 hours to shoot.

Ok, so you know that it really isn't that simple. But it really is a lot of fun to do. Take for example, a while back we added a green screen, this allowed us the endless possibilities of different sceneries, we haven't taken full advantage of this yet, but in due time.

Props...oh yeah, the props. You most definitely don't want to do a show without props...after all, they bring life to the show. A table, chairs, a phone and computer/keyboard for an office scene. Plants, pictures, etc..they all make a great contribution.

So here is a list of things you should already have to start a web show:
A camcorder...preferably a HD digital one...the prices are pretty ok these days.
A computer...well we know you already have one, otherwise how would you have been able to read this :)
Microphone(s)...Radio shack has some really cheap clip on types like the news casters use.
Props....don't forget props, you want to make it exciting.
and of course SCRIPTS!!! you can make up your own, but if you are too lazy to do so, I'm sure you can find lots online.
last, but most important of all...have a great sense of humor, if you don't have one, I can sell you mine :)
